About the Accommodation

Only 3 blocks from the ocean! Our tiny but mighty, beach bungalow is a perfect SD getaway! Tucked between 2 of our properties, The Green Door Cottage and Retro RV by the Sea, Birdie's Beach Bungalow is a perfect tropical tiny home. Invite the whole family where you can all stay in your own places that are steps away from each other! As your hosts, we strive to provide everything you need for a wonderful stay. We want you to have as much fun in San Diego as we do!

This darling, 175 square feet studio has just been completely redesigned with modern, tropical décor focusing on comfort and fun in the sun! It’s the perfect spot for two people and a pup! The property is located on a very loud, busy street and under the flight path. Planes take off from 6:30am-11:00pm. We have provided ear plugs for your convenience to help with the noise. Like any busy beach community, you may witness some colorful characters from the transient community in Ocean Beach. Birdie’s Beach Bungalow has a very comfy, brand new leather sofa and a small dining or work area. Relax in bed or on the sofa while you watch Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu on the 55” flat screen Smart LG TV. Find your perfect temperature with our built-in split unit AC and heater combo. The kitchen area is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, hot plate and Keurig coffee maker. We do not have a stove or an oven. We provide a smaller 4.5 cubic feet fridge to save space and there is no dishwasher, but we provide hand soap, dish soap and drying rack for your convenience. The space features a private, compact bathroom featuring a shower, toilet and modern hand-washing station. The full-sized bed area offers a brand new, ultra-comfortable mattress. There is no washer or dryer available, but there is a laundromat just a few blocks down the street. Outside of your front door, you will enjoy a small, private space to sip wine under the market lights while lounging in rocking chairs and enjoying the propane fire pit. Here we offer lounge chairs, beach chairs and a small cooler. The parking spot is located directly next to the house. We welcome one well-behaved pooch, but please no cats or other animals. Just let us know you are bringing a dog so we can make sure to set out the water and food bowl. We even have a garden hose out front where you can wash off sandy pups after Dog Beach. Ocean Beach is a very pet friendly area!

Self-check-in is easy, and management is quickly accessible and available for questions and recommendations. The property is meticulously maintained, and the interior is professionally cleaned, disinfected and sanitized and checked before each guest. We provide a welcome book for you which should answer most of your other questions. Check-in and check-out are simple; an email will be sent a few days before your arrival with detailed instructions. Unfortunately, due to high demand, turnover, and our standard of cleanliness, we are unable to provide late check-out. Parking is conveniently located right next to the house and can accommodate a small vehicle. There is only one parking space assigned for this home, please utilize this spot only. If vehicle is midsize or larger (sticking out into the alley), street parking will have to be found.

Quiet time is 10pm Our neighbors are in close proximity, so it is important that you be respectful and quiet in the evenings No parties There is a $25.00 charge for lost keys For extended family/friends, we also have two other vacation rentals just 25 minutes inland. It's hidden from the busy street but is located under the flight path of the SD Intl. Airport. As with any big city w/ great weather year-round, there is an unhoused population in OB. Property is safe & secure, but we remind our guests to be mindful of their surroundings. We hope to provide all you needed for fun stay in SD!
